South Dakota Pre-License Course Terms and Conditions
By purchasing a pre-license course, you are agreeing to the following terms:
Fee
Our cost for pre-license education varies depending on the course you register for. This fee must be paid in full before access to course materials is granted.
Cancellation Refunds
Refunds may be requested prior to starting any online portion of the course. $500 of the course fee is nonrefundable.
Course Validity
This course meets the pre-license education requirement of the South Dakota Real Estate Commission for all education required before taking the South Dakota real estate licensing exams.
Course Delivery
Our pre-license courses are all conducted in accordance with and the SD Real Estate Commission’s requirements.
If taking the hybrid course - The home study portion includes 76 hours and must be completed via the REcampus platform. Once the home study portion is completed and Prepare Real Estate Academy receives notice of the student’s completion from REcampus, the student may attend the live class sessions. The live class sessions cover the remaining required 40 hours of education.
It is highly recommended that students attend the live class sessions in-person. The nature of the class provides the greatest benefit to the student this way. If a student cannot attend in-person, arrangements may be made with Prepare Real Estate Academy in advance for video conferencing access.
If taking the fully online course - All required work will be completed via the REcampus portal. The tutoring bundled with the online course is optional and can be completed either in-person or via video conference.
Course Expiration
The online portion of any course expires 6 months after activation. One additional extension is available for an additional cost.
The live portion of the course (hybrid) must be completed within 6 months of completing the home study portion of the course. Should the student not complete the live classes on time, they must reregister and pay the full course fee before restarting the course.
Final Exam
Per the SD Real Estate Commission requirements, all students must pass a final exam with a score of at least 75% before a course certificate is issued.
Attendance
For live class sessions, the SD Real Estate Commission requires a minimum of 90% seat-time attendance. Regular breaks will be provided during live class sessions. Absence or lack of engagement other than these breaks will be tracked.
For those attending via video conference, the following requirements apply:
